Walla Walla University is a Seventh-day Adventist institution of higher education founded in 1892. A fully-accredited institution, WWU offers more than 100 areas of study in professional and technical programs and the liberal arts. 

The headquarters of WWU is located on an 83-acre campus in College Place situated in the Walla Walla Valley in Southeastern Washington state. The university also operates four satellite campuses, including a School of Nursing in Portland, Oregon, a marine biology station near Anacortes, Washington, and School of Social Work and Sociology campuses in Missoula and Billings, Montana. Choir and orchestra winter concert

ICantori, University Singers, and symphony orchestra to perform annual concert

Walla Walla University’s Department of Music will present the annual choir and orchestra winter concert on Saturday afternoon, March 9, at 4 p.m. in the Walla Walla University Church. The concert will feature the WWU symphony orchestra directed by Brandon Beck, associate professor of music, as well as University Singers and ICantori directed by Kraig Scott, professor of music. 

The concert will feature a variety of music spanning multiple time periods. The set by ICantori will feature a cantata by Johann Sebastian Bach accompanied by a string quartet playing with baroque bows in addition to other selections. The University Singers will perform “Five Hebrew Love Songs,” a collection of pieces composed by Eric Whitacre. The concert will also feature Dan Forrest’s “A Mighty Fortress,” performed by the WWU symphony orchestra. 

The University Church is located at 212 S.W. Fourth Street in College Place. The concert is free and open to the public, though donations are welcome.
